Spring has sprung and so have Chase’s bonus categories for the second quarter of 2026.
From April 1 through June 30, 2026, holders of the Chase Freedom Flex® and the legacy Chase Freedom® can earn 5% cash back on Amazon and Whole Foods purchases, travel purchases made through Chase’s travel portal and on donations made to Feeding America, on up to $1,500 in combined purchases across all categories (activation required). All other non-bonus-category spending earns 1% back.
Note that if you have an eligible Freedom card, you must activate this quarter’s categories by June 14, 2026. Rewards can be earned retroactively when you activate by that date.
A closer look at this quarter’s bonus categories
Amazon and Whole Foods
Eligible Amazon purchases include those made at Amazon.com plus Amazon digital downloads, Amazon.com gift cards, Amazon Fresh orders, Amazon Prime subscriptions and items sold by third-party merchants through Amazon.com’s marketplace.
Purchases made at Whole Foods, including online and delivery purchases, will also qualify for bonus cash back.
Although Amazon periodically appears on Chase's bonus calendars, the issuer has not offered both Amazon and Whole Foods as bonus categories in the same quarter since Q1 2020.
Chase Travel℠
This quarter, Chase Freedom Flex® cardholders can earn up to 9% cash back on purchases made through the issuer’s travel portal — 5% back from the card's ongoing bonus rate in that category, plus an additional 4% back from the quarter's bonus category.
Eligible purchases through Chase's travel portal include airline tickets, hotels, car rentals, cruises, activities and tours, and you must make payments directly on chasetravel.com.
Feeding America
For cardholders feeling generous this quarter, you can earn bonus cash back for donations made to Feeding America. Donations must be made directly through the organization's official channels.
Note that local Feeding America chapters may not be eligible for the higher rate.
